Dr. Schneider was the founding member and chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii from 1994-2018. At Kaiser, he helped to develop a Diabetic Limb Treatment Program and a surveillance program for patients with aneurysms and a registry for patients with carotid disease used for surveillance. He oversaw the development of the first endovascular operating room in the Kaiser system. Dr. Schneider has served on numerous committees for the Society for Vascular Surgery and is the past president of Western Vascular Society where he also served on a number of its committees. He has been invited to numerous visiting professorships and has served as faculty or course director for many specialty courses. He authored "Endovascular Skills," the 4th edition, to be published in 2019, and has co-authored three other books on various aspects of vascular surgery. Dr. Schneider is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery. Dr. Schneider founded two medical device companies, served as an adviser to many others, and has been awarded numerous patents. He has served as National Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials. Over 25 years, he has been a strong proponent of clinical research in vascular disease and has participated extensively in trial design, oversight, core lab analysis, events committees, data analysis, follow up, presentation, and publication. He has consulted on the regulatory pathway and pivotal trials for many vascular devices, has participated in numerous meetings with the FDA and has testified at FDA panel hearings. His experience includes performing procedures for several first-in-human trials.
