David Konur

David C. Konur joined CIS in 1999 and serves as the institute's chief executive officer (CEO). A native of Leesburg, Virginia, Konur received a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
During his time at CIS, Konur has led the institute through a time of tremendous growth and development. CIS is now a world-renowned organization employing more than 800 team members and operating in two states. CIS physicians are internationally recognized for their expert knowledge and groundbreaking advancements in technology and innovation.
Prior to joining CIS, Konur was a senior executive at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC), where he developed a management services organization (MSO) for the hospital physician practices and was responsible for the operational, strategic and financial management of many departments including radiology and special imaging, laboratory, pathology, blood bank, cardio-respiratory, home health, home infusion, hospice, and property management.
Konur is a fellow (FACHE) of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a certified medical practice executive (CMPE) of the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He also serves on a number of boards for health care companies and civic organizations. Additionally, Konur has received multiple awards and honors, including a Gold Congressional Medal Award.
